June/July 2002 - Summer is Coming - Competition!

Long, lazy days, summer dresses that rival the flowers in colour and style, Wimbledon, strawberries and cream. Balmy evenings accompanied by the smell of bbq, mown grass and a tall glass filled with Pims.

Ok, Ok, I know! I haven't mentioned the rain, hay fever and turning grey as we try to find ways of occupying the kids for six long weeks. But I can dream, can't I?

Which brings me to the news of a brand new competition. What do the words 'summer is coming' bring to your mind? How would you interpret those ideas with beads? Or imagin you were designing something to wear at a summer wedding or elegant garden party. Thats the theme for the competition, weave your dreams and send a picture to shelly@beadmouse.com, putting 'competition entry' in the subject line.

Rules:

The competition is open to all readers of The BeadMouse News.

Only 1 entry per competitor.

Deadline for entries: Midnight GMT summer time on August 1st 2002

Please supply the following information with your entry:

Name, contact info, description of piece including type of beads and techniques used. Some background information about yourself, for example how long you have been beading.

Judging: will be by visitors to the web site. A special competition gallery will be set up to exhibit entries and voting will take place during the month of August 2002.

Prizes: Among the prizes will be a vintage cab identical to the one used in 'Childhood Summers Remembered', which was my inspiration for the competition. Other prizes to be advised at a later date.
