April/May 2002 - Cool Websites
It is taking me a long time to get the links part of my website up and running
once more. Having lost everything with a worn out, exhausted hard drive
that refused to divulge any of the information stored on it, I had two options.
To simply gather up as many urls as I could find, remember, ask for and
present those, or take my time and rebuild the list slowly. I've opted for
the second alternative. In future, 'exchanged' links will go straight onto
the web site, but I will also be sharing my favourite links here in the
newsletter, with a 'favourite' featured each month.
This month I have chosen to concentrate on UK beaders. Although there are not too many with a web presence, there is a concentration of talent that should keep you surfing, inspired and coming back for another fix time after time!
Chrissy Bristow lovely beadwork,
intriguing braidwork
Catseye Designs lovely lady, lovely beadwork.
Eagle Spirit Designs eyecandy, kits and tutorials both free and to purchase - Jean is a lady with a talent for teaching.
SKG Designs unique, freeform designs and medicine bags.
This months featured link - Morticia's Magical Beadtour
The first British beader with a web site (the mouse was second, hehehe), Linda Breyer is a talented bead artist whith a recognisable style of her own. Every time I visit her site my first reaction is 'I want to bead like that when I grow up!'. Her amazing sense of colour and enviable creativity is an inspiration.
Dont miss 'Physchedelic Snowflakes' or 'Collar', two of my all time favourite pieces of bead art.
